“I stayed up all night. I read the entire Bible cover to cover.”

Dave Rygalski: Gilmore Girls” (2000)

Come on, take a wild guess, what is the first subject on the list? Yep, Bible study. This is one of those subjects that has plagued us for a while now. Back in March we were using a curriculum from Deeper Roots. I really liked it, in the beginning. Then it seemed to come undone for us. I mean the first few chapters were tight. Well thought out and thought provoking. Then things began to drift. To make matter worse the son BOMBED the Bible portion of his standardized test. So this year we’re going back to whole book study. I found Balancing the Sword. It comes with planning software and there are a few different ways you can set it up. I wanted to do the bible in a school year (176 days), but the son just doesn’t read that fast. So he took the reading test (part of the software) and is going to read straight from the bible for 15 minutes then answer the questions that are in the book for another 15. It’s scheduled to take him 360 days. I’m thinking I’ll need to add some devotional stuff in, but for now, it looks like it will do. If not, I’m sure you’ll hear about it.
